Hello and Welcome!

With my first foray into the world of blogging, I am delighted, humbled, and actually rather surprised that you would want to read this.  But that’s the wonderful nature of the web: it’s voluntary.

Herein I shall offer my essays and rants primarily concerning the Linden Scripting Language (hereafter LSL), whose major developer and proponent (so far) is the virtual world of Second Life ™.  I would be gratified to learn that my words here might be useful to others.  But I suppose what I’m really doing is just collecting my notes and thoughts about scripting in one place.

I plan to keep comments disabled here.  I don’t mind a benevolent and intelligent conversation, but how many of those have you seen in blog comments?  The vast majority display such glowingly useless repartee as “Hi!”, “I like it”, “I don’t like it”, “You’re an idiot”, irrelevant statements from those who just want to be seen or to look like they’re better than anyone else, and spam.  Thanks, but no.

But though I may be confident in my opinions, my hubris is not entirely unbridled.  There are those who may have pertinent questions or who wish to inform me of glaring technical errors in my essays.  These folk are welcome to seek me out in-world and talk to me privately.

And now on to clear a new trail in the great forest that is Life.  And with my luck, it’ll probably be administered by the Bureau of Land Management.  Hmmm, that may not be a bad thing.
